Abstract

We present a case of 61 years old patient, on hemodialysis once a week, who received 6 tablets of alpha keto-analogs every 24 hours for 12 weeks and it was sought to maintain the uremic balance that would improve his nutritional status. There were serum albumin corrections and did not manifested uremia symptoms. It was concluded that the use of alpha keto-analogs can help patients that receive only one hemodialysis per week, which brings benefits to the patient and the hospital.
